  • Today’s Top Story: It’s snowing, a lot! (source: I looked out my window).
  • BC bans trans fats in restaurants:
  • California man convicted of murdering five firefighters by starting wildfire: WIKINEWS

Prosecutors said the 38 year old man was “bent on destruction” and alleged “started the fire at night specifically to leave firefighters ‘on their own’ without aerial support.”

  • Real IRA claims responsibility for gun attack:

“While it may be true–and probably is–that not all Muslims are terrorists, it also happens to be true that nearly all terrorists are Muslim.” Dan Gillerman, Israeli Ambassador to the UN, March 7, 2006.

That’s not a fresh quote, but I was reminded of it today while reading WIKINEWS.

  • The ICC Issues Arrest Warrant for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir over the violence in Darfur.: good write up of the situation, possible ramifications, and Canada’s involvement over at Canada’s World.

“The pertinent question is whether countries beyond Sudan have a responsibility to intervene to end the brutality and, if so, whether the ICC is an appropriate tool for the purpose. Canadian elder statesman Lloyd Axworthy says yes.”

  • There is no Morality without Religion: In child rape case, Everyone is Excommunicated except the Accused

Yes, they really are that dogmatic. As Dan Savage might say, “Remember, there is no morality without religion”. From Savage:

The Vatican “stands behind” the excommunication of the mother a nine-year-old girl who underwent an abortion after she was raped and impregnated by her stepfather and doctors determined that carrying twins to term would endanger the life of the little girl—oh, the Vatican stands behind the excommunication of the girl’s doctors too.

  • Oh, the poor oversexed little urchin: What could possibly more “traumatizing” for a 13 year old boy than having sex with one of his female teachers? How about having sex with two of them? I just hope that he can get fit his PTSD therapy into his busy schedule of writing letters to Penthouse Forum.

Are you surprised that this happened in Utah? I wasn’t.
